Usage
The item is primarily used as a historic and magical repository that contains otherwise unobtainable magical knowledge. A constant presence is maintained at its entrance as Base-8-0045. If knowledge from the repository is to be extracted a team of three will be send to enter the facility equipped with water resistant clothes, shock collars and a way to communicate with the outside world.
The shock collars are set to deliver an unconformable shock every 15 minutes to break stupors or deep trains of thought.
As the inside of the location can not meaningfully be recorded knowledge gained from the repository has to be repeated verbally into the communication device for an outside of location recording.
Knowledge from the repository has a 1/5 chance of absolute accuracy, 2/5 chance of partial accuracy, 1/5 chance of provable falsehood and 1/5 chance of non-verifiability.
Report
The item consists of a cave underneath Braintree, England and the therein residing swarm of creatures. The creatures show signs of biological live as well as a resemblance to large earthworms. DNA analysis has shown that the creatures contain centipede DNA but could not match the DNA to a specific species. Some of the creatures inhabiting the cave are heavily deformed as to resemble mundane objects such as walls, chairs and plates.
The direct observation of the creatures is impossible as proximity to them causes a full hijacking of all senses, similar to hallucinations that are fully independent from brain chemistry. Even the usage of items capable of stopping mind affecting anomalies could not meaningfully interact with the altered perceptions. Altered senses display the same reality to all persons currently under their effect, but the reality is not consistent between excursions. It is also believed that some of the creatures parts are invisible to technology, as photos taken within the cave show exploration team members hovering in mid-air or walking on walls with something not captured pressing against them from bellow.
Remaining within the domain of the worms subjects will eventually fully disconnect from their real bodies, entering a semi-paralyzed state. In this state subjects will usually sit down or slump against the walls. This state is usually reached if no external pain stimulant is applied for 30 minutes. Subjects usually stop to communicate with the outside world about 20 minutes after the last outside stimulus.
The item presents its reality and therein contained knowledge as the remains of a civilization in different stages of advancement (see Experimentation Log 1). The oldest civilization currently displayed showed the still smoldering remains of a selection of tents made from animal hides. Information recovered from that trip contained true research on magically advanced radioactive decay as well as tactics to hunt creatures resembling cars.
Entrance to the Anomaly as observed via digital camera. At this point the natural senses only experience the altered reality.
The cave and its occupants had an averse reaction to holy symbols and artifacts of many different faiths and even to faiths of minor or niche religions (see examples in Experimentation Log 2). The creatures seam to not have a problem with items used to worship/appease dragons, devils or malevolent spirits (YΕkai).

| Date | Presentation | Content | Truth Content |
| 03.01.2017 | (reconstructed from civilian police report) bombed out capacity, several buildings overgrown with bright pink sponges | summoning circles for lesser demons as well as histories of their dealings, graffiti | partially accurate |
| 04.01.2017 | Grassland dotted with wooden farm buildings, sky flashing orange in irregular intervals | Japanese pre-combat rituals, invoking something described as "dead god of cleansing", edged in lead tablets | unverifiable |
| 18.01.2017 | Plastic underwater habitats in a Y2K aesthetic, partially flooded and overgrown with see-wheat with a silver texture | Sorting Algorithm utilizing 97 dimensions and several fix points in history | false |
Experimentation Log 2
| Date | Object | Circumstance | Result |
| 03.01.2017 | Gold Cross | Civilian Police Patrol, before official item discovery | Member wearing the object fell down repeatedly while in the anomaly, bruises indicate that they were tripped multiple times. That external stimulus facilitated their escape. |
| 04.01.2017 | Chinese Good-Luck Tattoo | Initial recovery | Member wearing the object felt nauseous and left the cave. In doing so it was revealed that a 25 cm long part of the anomaly had buried itself in the team members throat. After near suffocation was averted the piece served as a sample for various tests. |
| 19.01.2017 | New [REDACTED] Smartphone | Provided by exploration team as communications equipment | Device suffered a battery failure 5 minutes after entering the cave. The explosion was larger than expected. Subject survived with sever burns on the left hand and left site of the face. Battery appears to have been pierced. |
