I created a page similar to the GOI page but which will list the POIs (Persons of Interests). Today we have two of them, the famous and eternal Derek Crowley created by Cad and the White Empress from me.
I may have taken this initiative on my own and I am sorry, but I think that we should really highlight such issues, which deserve more visibility.

To view the folders simply click on the folder name in red on the POI page.

As usual reviews are always welcome, if this does not please the page will simply be deleted.

Wait, i think it was the Spanish French site who had that. I still think we had something like this around…

I checked the Spanish site. They don't have it. Could someone check on the French site? My french is so bad that even the search over there could not understand what i mend.

I checked the French don't have a page like this one (because im Russian-French) and then I didn't see a similar page on our wiki.

all we had were the files that presented the people of interest in the tales page. I just refocused these files on a separate page. just click on the folder name in red and you will have the original folder http://ci-wiki.wikidot.com/person-of-interest-uc247-dossier

I definitely want to see more Persons of Interest. This is a good idea. I've changed the format on my POI's dossier. Feel free to incorporate some elements of it to WE, Mira.

I preferred how the page looked before. This looks weird, like too smooth.

It's smooth… because it's literally a blank slate that needs to be filled with information. Information which I'm currently typing.

I will concede that it needs some graphics. Also, I'm creating distinctive CSS for this page and the GoIs.

Seriously Caduceus, you just making the page more ugly and you're ruining a lot of the effort that Miranda has made in the wiki did you at least talk with her for that, you know like a real staff cohesion ?

Proposal to move/rename PoI Dossiers

Looking at the way the individual PoI Dossiers are currently realized within the wiki, I have noticed that each article has a rather unwieldy Unix name of the format /person-of-interest-$$###-dossier. I consider these as a burden; the page name is both rather long (59 characters as full http-link) and very difficult to remember (in fact, harder than an SCP-number). It's also very intransparent (without looking, who knows who UC247 is?) and so what I'd consider an inelegant system.

My idea would be to rename each PoI dossier's page name to the PoI's Codename, i.e.:

• /person-of-interest-uc119-dossier → /derek-crowley
• /person-of-interest-uc247-dossier → /white-empress
• /person-of-interest-gc241-dossier → /agent-ukulele
• /person-of-interest-sc474-dossier → /sky-nomad

It would be much easier to use [[[internal links]]] this way when linking to PoIs and the overal system becomes more intuitive.

(Of course, we can use redirectors at the old adresses to prevent anything from breaking.)

I think this proposal isn't exactly contorversial, but I'd like to know what the rest of the community thinks before I implement any changes.

Do you have a way of changing the URL without affecting the pages rating/history/comments?
There is a way to have that cake and eat it too, should you not already have something like asked.

You could make new pages (with the new naming shame) which only contain a redirect to the old pages.
When you then use the site internal links it will lead to the redirect page, which leads to the Unix address. Than in the futur only the new address is used whenever someone new is added.

That's very well possible, using the "Rename" option (located right before "Delete"). It keeps everything on the page as is (including rating/history/comments) but moves it to another adress and/or category.

I just gave this treatment to my own PoI file for demonstration.

Changes implemented.

For the protocol: I had some classic "WTF Wikidot" bugs where the Ajax request to save the page somehow already got redirected with the White Empress and Derek Crowley, adding the redirect module to those articles instead. I of course fixed this immediately and it all works now, but sorry for the edits I had to revert.
