Usage

The Chaos Insurgency uses this item to assassinate high-profile individuals who pose a significant threat. It must be used rarely, and only those with a strong bond and relationship with the anomaly should interact with it for more precise information. Physical contact with the anomaly is strictly prohibited as it can agitate the entity.

When the Dream Wraith enters a hostile state, he will levitate to intimidate the subject, increasing their fear to prevent any unnecessary actions. However, if the person shows remorse, the entity will halt his aggression and end the lucid dream, allowing the subject to wake up. Individuals interacting with the Dream Wraith must speak Native American languages otherwise, they will be released from the dream.

If the Insurgency selects a person for assassination, the Dream Wraith will kill the victim. However, on rare occasions, the anomaly may refuse to kill someone if he deems them "not worthy to be killed."

Report

The Dream Wraith is an anomaly that only appears in a dream-like state. Anyone who encounters him becomes lucid and fully aware of their surroundings. Upon meeting the Dream Wraith, the subject is teleported to a memorable place from their past. Encountering the Dream Wraith is exceedingly rare and is unsure why Dream Wraith chooses certain individuals. Those unaware of the anomaly often mistake these encounters for "bad dreams" when they are not.

The Dream Wraith manifests in a way that reflects the subject’s cultural background, tailored to their childhood and the typical appearance of someone they grew up with to create a sense of connection. It typically appears half-naked, wearing clothing that represents the subject’s lifestyle. This unusual style, including the choice to be half-naked, and wear a bead necklace is rooted in the Dream Wraith's origin of how he chose to be comfortable. His body is illuminated solely by sunlight, with no external lighting, and his face remains perfectly hidden.

The Dream Wraith only interacts with people during the R.E.M. stage of sleep, which takes roughly 80 minutes to enter. The exact method by which the Dream Wraith kills is unknown, but the prevailing theory is that damage inflicted in the lucid dream translates to physical harm in the real body. All cases appear as "accidents," with victims suffering from cardiac arrest, aneurysm, stroke, or spasms after being induced into R.E.M. sleep.

In a lucid dream, the person who encounters the Dream Wraith can alter their environment, change clothes, and acquire items with incredible intent, similar to a regular lucid dream. While changing the environment and clothing does not provoke the Dream Wraith. Using ancient weapons used by the Tribesmen can make him enraged. The Dream Wraith has origins in Native American culture which makes it understandable why he hates those weapons.

The Dream Wraith speaks in English but speaks natively in Native American Languages, some examples are:

  • Navajo
  • Cherokee
  • Omaha-Ponca
  • Lakota
  • Shoshone
  • And possibly more

The Dream Wraith somehow has knowledge of the outside world and an understanding of current events. Although the exact method is unknown, it may achieve this by accessing human subconsciousness through dreams and studying them.

The Dream Wraith had a troubled history with the Chaos Insurgency for many years. However, over time, it allied with the Insurgency due to their shared disdain for various Groups of Interest (GoI). The Dream Wraith deeply despises these groups for their practices of containing, destroying, or exploiting anomalies to a certain level.

The Native Americans revealed that the Dream Wraith's true name is "Qaletaqa." They claim to have seen his real face in the Dream World, influenced by their childhood experiences and consider him a real person from thousands of years ago, though his tribe has since been forgotten. It is speculated that Qaletaqa may be from the Hopi clan because of their unique style when building foundations. However, it remains a mystery why there are so many weird foundations in the western area of the United States.

The Natives believe that "Qaletaqa" is either a curse or a deity. Opinions on this matter are divided, leading to a very complicated group, with each tribe having a slight distaste for the others. Some say "Qaletaqa" is evil, while others believe he is a god.

Conversing with the Dream Wraith is possible and yields a lot of details. However, most people who interact with the Dream Wraith remember the conversation but forget the specifics of what was discussed. This makes understanding the Dream Wraith challenging, especially for those with limited knowledge of Native American languages. Despite these difficulties, some researchers have been able to recall certain details about the Dream Wraith. However, most of the things that Dream Wraith said, mostly were not understood.
