Usage
This item can make a subject temporarily unable to lie. Subjects will willingly answer any questions the entity asks them. She always asks what their "dirty secrets" are. This has served to place many influential figures under Chaos Insurgency jurisdiction. Said figures obey orders and provide whatever we ask due to the fact that we have powerful blackmail on them. She has also helped us discover three security and research personnel at RF Xi-09 who were planning on betraying the Insurgency. The three subjects were subsequently terminated. The entity is not to be used to determine the loyalty of every single employee to the Insurgency. She is only to be used in convincing world leaders to aid in our efforts. We have recieved and pursued several avenues of research due to access to classified information.
There are two questions that are asked by the entity. One was directed by the Insurgency.
"What are your dirty secrets? Something you would take to your grave before you told someone, the things you don't want others to know?"
"What is chaos to you?"
These are the most common answers to the last question: freedom, anarchy, and helplessness.
Freedom: The subject is willing to help the Chaos Insurgency without too much pressure.
Anarchy: The risk behind pressuring said individuals into aid is too great to benefit from.
Helplessness: We can convince them to help the Insurgency, though they have a limit. Their fear and their helpless rage must be kept in a balance to maintain the connection.
Confusion: The subject may help us, but they will have to be more closely monitored than others.
Entropy: Chaos simply is. It is part of what makes the world. Without chaos, the world cannot be. We can make the subject work with or for the Insurgency with little or no pressure.
One side of bipolarity: There is chaos and order. Chaos is what all living things are made from. Order is what we all crave, even if we don't want to admit it. We all work toward order. The subject is indifferent towards the Insurgency. It is risky to use them for funding and resources, but they will not actively work against the Insurgency.
There are, however, conditions that must first be fulfilled. The subject must speak to her. They must be able to speak in the first place. She must touch the subject, even their clothes. Once all three of these conditions are met, the "Stained Reputation" effect takes place. To activate this effect, she will generally shake the hand of the subject. As a result, especially paranoid individuals who refuse to be touched must be restrained in order to fulfill these conditions.
Containment Protocols:
The entity is to be allowed to wander Facility Xi-09, but will not be allowed into Gamma or higher priority rooms. She will be provided private sleeping quarters with a small kitchenette and bathroom. She is not to be used to determine the loyalty of a worker to the Insurgency unless they are becoming a Containment Engineer, or being promoted to the higher ranks of Gamma class. In these cases, she asks how loyal they are to the Insurgency. What have they done for it? These questions will also be asked of anyone working on the team handling her.
If she asks any questions regarding passwords or files she does not have access to, the interview chamber must be flooded with an anesthetic aerosol must be pumped into the room and the subject will be placed in solitary confinement until such a time as the Head Researcher deems fit. Fingerprint locks, retina scanners, and DNA readers have been put in place to prevent the entity from entering a place she is not allowed to. Passwords are reset every β days, and she has to wear a body cam and microphone that constantly records unless she is asleep or alone in her room.
Dos and Don'ts
Dos:
- Let her ask whatever questions she wants to ask, unless it regards to passwords and unauthorized files. It'll always lead to the blackmail.
- Restrain especially paranoid subjects who refuse to be touched.
- Record the conversation.
Donts:
- Don't use her to determine the loyalty of friends/lovers.
- Don't use her on anyone outside of the project unless they are being promoted to a Gamma class position or a CE.
- Don't interrupt her when she is writing. She has harmed three people who have done that.
- Don't try to use her property on more than three people. The others may attack her.
Limitations:
The entity is unable to gain information from those who can't speak and/or hear. The information must be presented verbally in order to gain accurate information. The questions must be heard in order for the effect to take place.
In addition, the entity cannot gain information from a memory lost to brain damage. If someone has recieved brain damage and lost a memory, then the information is simply unobtainable and the subject will answer with "I don't know. It's just blank." This has caused frustration to Analiana, and she has been researching how to fix this.
Analiana is not able to use her property on more than three people at a time. If she tries, only three will be affected. All others are either indifferent or hostile to her.
Report
Description: The Item is a 27-year-old female with moderately brown skin and black eyes and hair. Physical anomalous properties include a tattoo of a hawk on her back, which shifts position every three hours. The tattoo is realistic enough to determine that it is a perigrine falcon. She says she has always had it. Birth records show this to be true. She was born on May 03, 1995 in [REDACTED], Brazil. Both of her parents died when she was seven, and she had been living on her own since then. Her first language was Portugese and she was fluent in English at the time of acquisition. She has, however, learned seven others since her initial acquisition.
When the entity was acquired, she said that she had been looking for an opportunity to talk to important people. She also continued to say that she was tired of being in the same place and that she felt smothered by her home. Her entire family had died there, and they had not even given the family a burial. She felt suffocated while there, and expressed gratitude to the Insurgency for getting her out. She has agreed to work with the Insurgency as long as she gets to travel and she doesn't go to Brazil. Under the influence of sodium pentothal, she revealed all of her safe houses on the borders of her city and country. She revealed that she was going to leave the country illegally. She also told us that she had cooperated with a drug cartel to get her out in exchange for blackmailing the DP. She then went unconscious from shock at revealing that information. It appears the entity did not like revealing her own secrets.
Properties: When asked a question by the entity, the person she directed it to can't lie to her. Try as they might, they end up telling the truth, even listing details they would be unable to remember through standard enhanced interrogation techniques. The entity will always ask what their most well kept secret is. It takes, at most, five minutes as the subject struggles not to answer or to lie. Every time this Item asks a subject a question, the answer is supposedly honest. They are found to be true through investigation, even to the date. As the subject is speaking to the Item, they are unable to move, appearing to be hypnotized by something. It has been proven to be a form of hypnosis activated by her voice. She can direct the hypnosis only to those who she is asking questions to.
It was discovered on 04/12/2017 that the entity was able to control her hypnosis to issue five second long orders. This is applicable to whoever is listening that she wants to obey her. The effect of one word will vary, depending on the intention of Analiana. She wrote that she discovered this 4.5 years before, and had been using it to make sure she was not attacked when she asked sensitive questions. When she issues this order, her voice accentuates the consonants, as to make sure there is no misunderstanding what she said. This property does not function over electric audio, such as a recording of her order, or over security camera audio.
Preamble: This was when we became aware of what she could do for us. We were meeting with a Defense politician to discuss his lack of funding recently when we eavesdropped upon this conversation:
Analiana: Good day, sir.
DP: Good day, madam. Is there anything I can help you with?
Analiana: I'm a reporter for Globonews. I expected to ask a few questions. Do you mind?
DP: Sure. I have some time.
Analiana: Great. First, I was wondering what your role as a Defense handler was. What exactly do you do?
DP: I am the one who watches the watchers. Loyalty is a large part of our government.
Analiana: So you're the one who got [REDACTED] arrested?
DP: That is correct. He was funneling money devoted to our military to terrorists. I made sure that didn't happen. I can look the other way on minor things. What good politician doesn't? That, however, is too much for me. He had to be stopped.
Analiana: I can't help but notice that that was also the year a new Defense election was going. He was running against you. Is that correct?
DP: I won't deny it. He was running against me. I would have won anyway. I was keeping the terrorists out. He wanted to divert our focus from them to focus on the cartels. They are a problem, but not the biggest one.
Analiana: What would you do if the terrorists stopped targeting Brazil?
DP: I would retire. My job is done.
Analiana: Why would you not target the cartels? Or can you not tell me?
DP: I will not tell you.
Analiana: Guards? Freeze.
DP: What is this?
Analiana: Sit. I want to know. What's the secret you don't want anyone to know? Somethingβ¦something you would take to your grave with you?
*silence for two minutes; all we heard were grunts of exertion*
DP: *gasps* I was once part of a drug cartel. Do you know how many people I've killed who ratted out my team?
Analiana: No. How many?
DP: I've killed thirty-seven in the last three months. I still help them.
Analiana: Incredible. And they didn't catch you?
DP: Of course not. I pay them to look the other way as long as I stay out of their cities.
Analiana: Ah, I'd like to know more about you, but the paper is going to be inked tomorrow. I have to write fast. Thanks.
DP: Wait. Do you think you can make me say that without getting some sort of consequence? I've killed others for far less than I just told you. You won't go away.
*the sound of several guns being primed are heard*
NOTE: At this point, we had deduced that something was off about her, and we subdued the politician. We captured her and brought her into CI custody on October 19, 2017. She has an IQ of 147, which explains how she was able to gain an education in reporting that young. When we had acquired her, we had to fake her death by staging a raid from a terrorist organization known as ββββββββββ. They came and blew up the house, where Analiana was rumored to have met DP. Scraps of clothing with her DNA were found at the scene, and she was presumed dead. The entity then underwent plastic surgery to change her appearance. The box with her clothes was buried, and her grave is regularly visited by people that knew her.
I decided it was too much work to write down the original and translate it, so I have simply translated it.
- Dr. Hartense
Preamble: This interview was conducted the day after she was initially acquired. It was to determine if she knew of her anomalous property.
*begin transcript*
Hartense: I'm glad to finally meet you. My name is Draco Hartense. I will be leading the team devoted to understanding you.
Analiana: I am Analiana, as I'm sure you already know.
Hartense: True, but I still wanted you to feel like we were properly introduced. Do you mind of I ask you a few questions?
Analiana: Sure, if you answer a few of mine.
Hartense: We'll get to yours shortly. First off, what did you do to DP to make him answer your question?
Analiana: Ah, you heard? I just asked him a question. People always answer truthfully when I ask. You say you're a doctor? What are you a doctor of?
Hartense: I studied Recreational Horticulture, Clinical Psychology, Linguistics, and I have a minor in Orchestra.
Analiana: Do you still play?
Hartense: Violin and guitar. I believe you are an anomaly. You are something that shouldn't exist. I have to test this, but it will cause no harm to you, I promise.
Analiana: How will you test that?
Hartense: We'll be recording conversations between you and others. We'll investigate them afterward to make sure they're true. If they are, you will have to stay with us. If not, you won't remember anyway.
Analiana: I see. Is there anything else?
Hartense: When you ask a question, do you feel anything?
Analiana: I feel a tingle on the tip of my tongue, but that's all.
Hartense: Not with a normal statement or an order?
Analiana: No. With an order, I get a taste like one of those cough drops you gave me.
Hartense: I see. Well, I need to get back to documenting, so you get some rest. Good day, ma'am.
Analiana: Good day.
*end transcript*
NOTE: She seems unaware of her property. We will begin testing tomorrow.
NOTE: This experiment was conducted by another researcher on the team. They were not part of the test.

Mason Crane; Security Officer; Delta |
"I've never looked at a woman without wondering what she'd look like without clothes. Sometimes, I act on those impulses." |
We found this to be true and he was removed from the research and security team for the entity. She expressed disgust at the sight of the man, so he was reassigned to another site. |

Draco Hartense; Researcher; Beta |
"I had severe anger issues as a child and I had to see a professional therapist. Here's her information." |
In fourth grade, he threw a chair at someone. It's not really surprising, as he still gets annoyed easily. His therapist was qualified to help kids with temper problems. |

Hailey Valencio; Researcher; Gamma |
"I killed a man. He was trying to kill me, but I shot him. I've never told anyone until now; that's how ashamed I am. My sister was there to see it all." |
We asked her sister, and it proved to be true. Five years before the date of her test, she killed a man. He had approached her with a knife. No one she had contact with afterward other than her sister knew of this. |
| 10/11//2017 |
Gavin Cross, Fatimah Abbas, Karl Weber; Security Officers; and Johnson Glover; CE |
GC: "I can't look at someone without wondering if I can beat them in a fight. You? Very likely." FA: "I once slaughtered an entire village of fishers. I still feel nothing about it; I'm just numb." JG: "I killed a man because he said I was stupider than him. The audacity!" KW: "Fuck off."" |
Johnson Glover was not made a Containment Engineer and was required to undergo another, stricter, psychological eveluation. Karl Weber went to choke the entity while she was writing down notes.. He was gravely injured and died of a stomach virus shortly thereafter. It seems she cannot do this to more than three people. We will not try this again. |
This interview was taken on May 7, 2018.
Preamble: We have weighed the risks and benefits and come to a conclusion. We can use her.
Hartense: Good evening, ma'am.
Analiana: That's a first. You've greeted me differently than other times. What's happening?
Hartense: I'll tell you in a moment. Congratulations, you seem to be acclimating to English fairly well.
Analiana: Yes, and I seem to be doing well in Spanish too. Why are you here?
Hartense: I have some news. For now, I have a couple questions, and I want them answered truthfully.
Analiana: Okay.
Hartense: You've had exposure to the Chaos Insurgency. You know our mission. Do you agree with it?
Analiana: Absolutely. Chaos creates order and order creates chaos. I learned this very well.
Hartense: If I were to ask you your opinion on blackmail-
Analiana: I would tell you to remember the circumstances in which you brought me here.
Hartense: True. Last one. If I were to ask for your help blackmailing a politician, would you be willing to do it?
Analiana: And now we reach the real point. Yes, I will help you. I have a few requests.
Hartense: Name them.
Analiana: I want different books. It gets really boring in that room with nothing to do. I also want writing materials. I want to write a story. Last of all, I want a more comfortable bed. Those cots are not good for me. I wake up stiff every morning.
Hartense: The books, you'll probably get. The others, I'll see what I can do.
Analiana: I suppose that's what I expected.

ACE NOTE: We would like to see how her mind thinks, as well as how useful she will be to us. We will watch this Item closely.
- ACE [REDACTED]
Preamble: The Insurgency had recieved word that a prototype (Codenamed "Orion's Point") was successfully tested through ββββββββ, a proven source. Command wanted to test her abilities. Due to the aligning of goals from multiple departments, Analiana was sent to gain access to this weapon. The Item was sent with a unit of three armed guards to prevent the Item being killed and the possibility of an attempted escape. The transcript is as follows:
Analiana: Good morning, sir.
DARPA Head: And to you as well? To what do I owe this pleasure?
Analiana: I understand that you head several research projects, correct?
DARPA Head: Yes, that is correct.
Analiana: Amazing. I'm a reporter from the People magazine, and we were thinking on doing an article on someone in the government. I wanted someone more behind the scenes, and I picked you. I wanted someone dedicated to his work.
DARPA Head: I'm touched you have such a high opinion of me.
Analiana: Of course. There are, however, some questions I have to ask to make sure that you're a good candidate.
*at this point, we jammed the bugs in his office and put the monitors to sleep*
DARPA Head: Ask away.
Analiana: First, the question bound to make friends and enemies. What's your favorite football team?
DARPA Head: Kansas City Chiefs. I was born and raised there, and you gotta stick to your roots. If you can't go for the home team, what's the point of having a home?
Analiana: Fair. If you were to describe your job in one phrase, what would it be?
DARPA Head: I make the tools for your safety. Be it missiles, vehicles, or even drones, I can make them.
Analiana: I'll get back to that one in a moment. I wanted to know, what do you think of Chaos?
DARPA Head: You're helpless to do anything of your own will. Order can only be disturbed so much before it reaches a tipping point of uncontrollability.
Analiana: You seem prepared for this question. Did you predict it?
DARPA Head: No. I simply ponder on polar opposites. Order and Chaos. Life and Death. Yin and Yang. Things like that occupy my time.
Analiana: Your answer also seemed personal. Was it?
DARPA Head: Yes.
Analiana: In what way?
DARPA Head: I have participated in riots and in quelling them. I prefer the latter, restoring order to a chaotic crowd. That isn't helplessness.
Analiana: What do you believe to be helplessness? Guards? Freeze
DARPA Head: You can't control the situation. Whatever's happening is happening, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. Being helpless is like having legs, but you can't walk.
the guards are posted outside, ready if anything goes on; the guards inside seem to have frozen
Analiana: So, you mentioned drones? What do these drones do?
DRAPA Head: They house an A.I. inside of them that can take anything on a target off of the internet and track them down through that. It's able to comb through one exabyte every two hours! Unfortunately, we were only able to make five functioning A.I that could hndle the work.
Analiana: Shame. I had hoped there were more. Now, I have one last question that may lead to others: What is your dirtiest secret? That one thing you will take to your grave?
DARPA Head: I- I…
*silence for 1 minute 39 seconds*
DARPA Head: I've cheated on my wife with seven different women since we got married twelve years ago. I'm on the eighth right now.
Analiana: Wow. That's impressive and really disappointing. I thought you were better than that. You're going to tell me one last thing. I work for an organization that would love this information. What would happen to you if I told your wife? Your boss?
DARPA Head: I'd get fired so fast I wouldn't have time to get dizzy.
Analiana: I can make sure no one finds out. Where are the drones?
DARPA Head: I had them moved, but they were the ones to decide where. The coordinates are on my flashdrive. I just got it.
Analiana: What's your password?
DARPA Head: βββββββ βββββ
Analiana: Is that the name of your current flame?
DARPA Head: Yeah.
Analiana: …
*door opens*
Guard A: Ma'am, we're almost out of time.
Analiana: Understood. Sir, this is good information. Keep supplying us with what we ask, and no one will know. If you pick up another girl, we will know. Say nothing of this to anyone, got it?
DARPA Head: Yes ma'am.
Analiana: Good. Let's go.
*the door closes; the DARPA Head's guards unfreeze and look around in bewilderment*
*end transcript*
RESULTS: We raided the facility the coordinates provided us and came out with four drones. The fifth had initiated a self-destruct code. Further analysis of the base showed that it destroyed the base. This function will have to be removed when it is not in the field. We have determined that Analiana is very useful to us and will be treated accordingly. Do not treat her as a prisoner or like some other, more actively dangerous humanoid anomalies.
